Investigation underway after schoolboy hit by bus

A 13-year-old boy has been seriously injured after being hit by a bus in Runcorn.

The incident happened at around 7.14pm on Monday 4th August on West Lane. Emergency services responded to reports of a collision involving a bus and a pedestrian.

The boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains at this time.

An investigation into the circumstances of the collision is under way. Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant dashcam or CCTV footage to contact them.

Inspector Steve Griffiths said:

“We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident as we investigate what happened.

“We’d urge people to get in touch with us via cheshire.police.uk/tell-us or by calling 101. Please quote IML-2147879.

“The same goes for anyone who may have any CCTV or dashcam footage which could aid our enquiries.”

The force is particularly interested in speaking with anyone who was in the West Lane area at the time and who may have seen the moments leading up to the incident.
