CCTV appeal after dog attacks cat in Prescot

Police have released CCTV images of two men they want to identify after a dog was let off its lead and attacked a pet cat in Prescot.
Merseyside Police said the cat suffered serious injuries and had to be put down.
Officers said two men were walking a large dog on a lead on Speakman Way in Prescot at around 3.40pm on Wednesday 12th August.
One of the men let the dog off its lead and it attacked a pet cat it had spotted in a nearby bush.
The cat was so badly injured it was euthanised.
Appeal for information
Detectives have issued CCTV images from the area after carrying out CCTV and witness enquiries.
Constable Jess Burrows said: “We will not tolerate such irresponsible dog ownership on our streets. These types of attacks on pets can have a devastating impact on owners and their animals and we take these incidents seriously.
