Police officer hit by car in Huyton
The officer has been taken to hospital
A police officer has been hit by a car in Huyton.
Merseyside Police received a report of a collision involving a white AMG Sport Mercedes and a police officer on Pilch Lane just after 9:25am today (30 April).
The officer suffered a leg injury and has been taken to hospital.
The road is closed in both directions whilst officers carry out CCTV enquiries.
Chief Inspector Christopher Bland said:
"We were called to reports of a collision on Pilch Lane where one of our officers was injured this morning. We will always fully investigate any incident that causes harm to our officers whilst on duty.
"A police scene is currently in place and members of the public are advised to avoid the area while enquiries are ongoing."
