Another pensioner is in a critical condition

A pensioner has died after a crash in Warrington.

A Red Toyota Yaris and a Red Nissan Juke were travelling in opposite directions along Thelwall Road when they collided at around 4:10pm yesterday (Thursday 5 February).

The driver of the Toyota, an 87-year-old man, died in hospital - and the passenger, an 82-year-old woman, is in a critical condition.

The driver of the Nissan sustained minor injuries.

Inspector Andy Dennison said:

"I’d urge anyone who witnessed the collision to contact us.

"The same goes for anyone who has dash cam footage, CCTV or doorbell footage that may help our investigation into the circumstances of the collision."
