Pensioner dies in car collision in Fazakerley
The 83-year old's family has been told

A man who was involved in a road traffic incident in Fazakerley this morning (Sat 11 October), has tragically died.
Merseyside police were called to a report a grey Ford Mondeo was in collision with a parked silver Mercedes on Longmoor Lane at around 8am. Sadly the driver, a 83-year-old man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Road closures were in place but they have now reopened.

Detective Sergeant Simon Duffy said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who has passed away and they are being supported by specially trained officers.
“It is initially believed that he suffered a medical episode, and that no other vehicle was involved in the incident apart from the parked car.
“However, we are carrying out enquiries to ensure this is the case, and we are investigating the circumstances of this collision.
“With this, I would appeal to people who were in the area this morning who may have witnessed this, or have dash camera footage of the incident to please contact us.”
