Murder investigation launched four months after the disappearance of an Ellesmere Port man
39-year-old Martin Conway was last seen in early February
A murder investigation has been launched more than four months after the disappearance of a man from Ellesmere Port.
Martin Conway, 39, was last seen overnight between Sunday 1 February and Monday 2 February 2026 in Chester city centre.
Despite extensive enquiries over the past four months, Cheshire Police say they have been unable to locate him and no body has been found.
Following the investigation, officers have now arrested four people on suspicion of murder.
Those arrested include a 35-year-old woman from Winsford and a 37-year-old man from Northwich, who have both been released on bail pending further enquiries.
A 44-year-old woman from Chester and a 23-year-old man from Chester remain in police custody.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Martin's disappearance and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
When he was last seen, Martin was wearing a black coat with a fur-lined hood, grey jogger bottoms or black leggings, and white trainers. He is described as being 5ft 7in tall, of slim build, with light brown hair and blue eyes.
Detective Inspector Andrea Price said: "Martin was last seen over four months ago, and during that time we have been following multiple lines of enquiries in an effort to trace him. We now believe he may have come to harm.
"Following an extensive investigation, we have now arrested four people in relation to his disappearance who are assisting us with our enquiries.
"We would continue to appeal for anyone with any information as to Martin's disappearance to please contact us – no amount of information is too small."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Cheshire Police quoting the relevant incident details. Detectives say enquiries remain ongoing as they work to establish what happened to Martin.
