Man who died in Seaforth Docks incident named
63-year-old Michael Leppert died yesterday
A man who died in an industrial incident at Seaforth Docks has been formally identified as 63-year-old Michael Leppert from Seaforth.
Emergency services were called to the site at around 10.15am on Wednesday following reports that a man had been involved in a collision with a forklift truck.
Mr Leppert was pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
In a tribute, his family described him as a “much-loved son, dad and very devoted grandad” who will be “sorely missed.”
They have requested privacy as they process their loss.
A joint investigation is ongoing and is being led by Merseyside Police in collaboration with the Health and Safety Executive.
