Man stabbed in leg as police appeal for information in Netherton

Authorities are investigating after a 35-year-old man was stabbed in the leg early this morning on Peterborough Drive, Netherton (28 March).

Emergency services responded to reports of the attack shortly after 6am, locating the victim who was then transported to hospital for treatment.

His injuries are serious but not life-threatening.

Police are conducting initial inquiries at the scene and examining CCTV footage in a bid to track down the assailant.

Chief Inspector Jay Halpin, involved in the investigation, is calling on anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to come forward.

“We are in the early stages of the investigation and are trying to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident,” Inspector Halpin said.

"I would like to take this opportunity to appeal to anyone who was in the area of Peterborough Road, or Eden Vale, this morning and saw what happened, or who has any information to come forward and speak to us.

“I would also ask people in the area to check their CCTV and dashcam to see if it has captured any footage. If you do have footage please get in touch as it may help with the investigation."
