Man seriously injured after late night assault outside Formby pub

A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after an assault outside a pub in Formby late on Saturday night.
Emergency services were called to Three Tuns Lane at around 11.20pm on 7th March following reports of a man being attacked outside the Wall of Fame pub.
A man in his thirties was found with injuries to his head and body and was taken to hospital for assessment.
Police said he is in a serious but stable condition.
A second man in his thirties was also found with minor injuries.
He was treated in hospital and has since been discharged.
Investigation under way in Formby
Enquiries are continuing in the area as officers work to establish what happened.
Forensic work is being carried out and officers are reviewing CCTV while also speaking to people living nearby.
Detective Inspector Sarah Wilkinson said: “We are still piecing together exactly what happened and why. At this early stage, I'd urge any witnesses who have not yet come forward to do so as soon as possible. We are determined to do all we can to find those responsible.
“If you saw anything, know anything, or were passing by at the time, pass on any CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage as this may provide vital evidence.”
