Man 'pushed onto train tracks' at Liverpool Lime Street

A man had to be rescued at Liverpool Lime Street station on Tuesday night (07 October) after being 'pushed onto train tracks' by a stranger.

The victim was walking along the underground platform for the Wirral line when he was shoved at around 17:00BST.

Members of the public rushed to help the man, who was pulled up off the tracks without serious injury.

He was then taken to hospital.

British Transport Police have released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

Anyone who recognises them or witnessed the incident is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 517 of 07 October.
