Man hospitalised with serious face and arm injuries in Toxteth

An investigation has been launched after the incident last night

A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital following a serious facial injury in Toxteth on Friday (22/5).

Emergency services responded to reports just after 6:15 pm of the man on Asbridge Street, with a deep slash wound to his face.

Paramedics treated the man's injuries to his face and arm before transporting him to hospital.

Authorities have initiated an investigation, conducting forensic examinations and reviewing CCTV footage in the area, specifically on Asbridge Street and Cawdor Street.

Detective Inspector Richard Shillito commented, stating, "We are in the early stages of an investigation to establish exactly what happened on Asbridge Street and the surrounding area earlier yesterday evening.

"We are appealing to witnesses to contact police if they saw anything suspicious in the area at around 6:15pm.

"Similarly, if you live on Asbridge Street and have any doorbell footage from 6:15pm, please contact police. This information could be vital to our investigation."
