Man charged after teenage girl shot in Toxteth

Police continue enquiries after 17-year-old injured in Liverpool shooting

A man has been charged after a 17-year-old girl was shot in the legs in Toxteth, Liverpool last month.

Armed officers were called to Lime Grove, off Lodge Lane, at around 12.55am on Thursday 12th March following reports of a shooting inside a residential property. The teenage victim was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

Following an ongoing investigation, a 20-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday 15th April.

Ali Karadas, 20, of Denman Drive in Liverpool, has now been charged with Section 18 wounding with intent and possession of a prohibited firearm measuring less than 30cm or 60cm.

Karadas has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Wirral Adult Remand Court today, Thursday 16th April.

Merseyside Police say enquiries are continuing and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
