Victim in stable condition after attack on Elmhurst Road

Detectives have charged a man following a stabbing in Belle Vale on the morning of Wednesday 11th June.

Emergency services were called to Elmhurst Road just before 8.45am to reports that a man in his 30s had been stabbed in the chest.

The victim was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Merseyside Police have confirmed that 39-year-old Andrew Maguire, of Hornbeam Road in Halewood, has been charged in connection with the incident.

He faces charges of Section 18 wounding with intent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, possession of a knife blade in a public place, and threatening a person with an offensive weapon.

Maguire was remanded into custody and appeared at Liverpool Magistrates' Court on Thursday 12th June.
