Man arrested after reports of fight involving gun in Liverpool city centre

It's not thought any shots were fired and no one is believed to have been hurt

A man's been arrested following reports of another man being threatened with a gun during a fight in Liverpool city centre.

Police say they were called at 4.45am on Monday 6th April to reports of a fight involving two men near Clayton Square.

It was reported that one of the men threatened the other with a gun during the altercation, although it's not believed any shots were fired.

Police say no injuries have been reported.

Following CCTV and witness enquiries officers detained a 37-year-old man in the city centre and arrested him on suspicion of possession of a firearm without a certificate.

He is currently in custody.

No firearm has been recovered and enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.
