Man arrested after pedestrian hit by car in Doddleston

Police are investigating and seeking witnesses

A 58-year-old man has been arrested after a pedestrian was hit by a car in Doddleston, near Chester, in the early hours of yesterday morning (07/02).

The incident happened on Church Lane shortly after 2.30am when a blue Kia Sportage collided with a pedestrian, causing serious injuries.

The injured man was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital, where he is currently in a stable condition.

The driver was arrested at the scene and remains in police custody.

Church Lane was temporarily closed but reopened at around 9am.

Detective Inspector Martin Caldwell said: “This investigation is in its early stages and Police continue to make enquiries regarding the collision.

“I would ask anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone with any video footage to get in touch.
