Liam Howard receives Royal Humane Society commendation
Southport's hero honoured for his life-saving actions
Liam Howard, a courageous figure from Southport, has been recognised by the Royal Humane Society for his brave actions that saved a man's life.
Howard, who previously won the Sefton Courage Award at the Grand Pride Of Sefton Awards, has been awarded a commendation certificate by the Royal Humane Society.
This accolade, which prominently features the King's name, acknowledges individuals who have performed extraordinary acts of bravery.
"It is truly an honour to receive this commendation from the Royal Humane Society," Howard said.
His life-saving efforts took place at Southport's London Street NCP car park next to Southport Train Station in October, where he intervened to assist a distressed man attempting to take his own life.
Howard stemmed the bleeding and comforted the individual until paramedics arrived, ensuring the man had privacy as he was being helped.
The man has since made a full recovery and spent a joyous Christmas and a memorable holiday with his family.
Photos of Howard receiving the commendation were captured at Southport Town Hall, where he plans to send them to the Chairman of the Royal Humane Society for their archives and press releases.
Later this month, Howard will attend the Heroes Awards ceremony at the London Hilton as a finalist.
