Domestic abuse charge after woman found dead in Netherton

A man's been charged with breaching a domestic violence protection order after the discovery of a woman's body in Netherton.

Officers were called just after 6.10pm yesterday, Sunday 16 March, by the North West Ambulance Service, following concern for a woman in her 30s at a property on Merchant Close.

The woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

In an update today a spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We have charged Michael Keegan, 38, of Merton Road, Bootle with breach of a domestic violence protection order.

"He was remanded into custody to appear in court yesterday (Monday).

"The woman has not yet been formally identified.
