Chester Zoo is hosting a special event called 'Dreamnight', providing 150 families, impacted by life-limiting or life-changing conditions, with a magical evening to create cherished memories.

The event offers an exclusive after-hours experience at the zoo, along with personal tours, entertainment, and the chance to interact with beloved characters.

Now in its 21st year, Dreamnight is brought to life by the dedicated Chester Zoo staff and volunteers who donate their time to welcome families for free, ensuring they capture unforgettable moments.

The families attending have been nominated by organisations that provide critical care and support to children, such as Alder Hey and Claire House.

Zookeeper Holly Webb is part of the committee that brings 'Dreamnight' to life and told us just how much it means to them to host the event:

"Chester Zoo loves hosting the event because it's a chance for us as a charity to get involved with lots of other charities around the area. It's a night where they can put maybe some of the regular daily stresses to one side and hopefully just have a really enjoyable night."

Throughout the evening, visitors will explore the zoo's 130-acre site with knowledgeable guides and enjoy activities like face painting, hand art, and vehicle explorations, including a tractor, police cars, and a fire engine.

A variety of popular characters will be present for meet-and-greets, including a Minion, superhero characters, princesses, and icons from Star Wars.

The Dreamnight event promises an enchanting experience aimed at providing joy and relaxation to families who might otherwise be unable to enjoy such an outing.
