Arrest after Netherton stabbing
Merseyside Police say they're still investigating despite making an arrest
A man has been arrested following a stabbing in Netherton.
Merseyside Police were called to reports that a man had been stabbed at a house on Dale Acre Drive at around 1am on Thursday 12 February.
The victim suffered a number of stab wounds and was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition
A 47-year-old man from Netherton was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He was taken to a police station in Merseyside for questioning and has now been bailed with conditions.
Detective Inspector Samantha Davies said: “Although our officers made a swift arrest just hours after the incident we are still investigating what happened on Dale Acre Road yesterday after a man was left at his home with several stab wounds. I would like to reassure residents that we believe this was an isolated incident and the knife that was allegedly used during the incident has been recovered by officers.
“I would continue to appeal to anyone who lives in the area, that has any information or who has any doorbell or CCTV footage that may have captured the incident to get in touch as soon as possible.
“Knife crime has absolutely no place in Merseyside. Every knife we remove from our streets is one less opportunity for harm, and we will continue to take a hard stance against those who carry or use knives.
“We will continue to target such offenders and protect our communities, so if you have information about this incident or someone carrying a knife or know someone involved in knife crime please contact us.”
