Dispersal order issued in Sutton Bridge to combat anti-social behaviour
Residents alarmed by criminal incidents in the area
In response to reports of escalating anti-social behaviour in Sutton Bridge, Lincolnshire Police have issued a dispersal order to prevent further incidents.
Inspector Paul Smith has authorised the Section 35 Dispersal Order, effective from 8 a.m. on 10th October until 8 a.m. on 12th October.
The order grants officers the authority to require individuals to leave the specified area of Bridge Road, Sutton Bridge, including adjoining roads and Sutton Bridge Memorial Park, if they are contributing to harassment, crime, or disorder.
Failure to comply with the order is an arrestable offence.
Recent incidents have included damage to houses, kicking of doors, and throwing eggs and stones at people and properties, causing alarm among local residents.
The local neighbourhood policing team is actively working with the community, partner agencies, and parents to address the issue.
Inspector Paul Smith emphasized the serious impact of these behaviours, stating that the community will not tolerate anti-social behaviours and criminality.
“We are committed to protecting residents and businesses from these disturbances. Additional resources will be deployed and enforcement action taken when necessary," Inspector Smith said.
Residents are encouraged to engage with young people and families to help prevent future incidents, with the police ready to intervene where necessary.
The police are determined to support those affected and take decisive action against offenders.
