Lincolnshire has experienced a significant rise in road fatalities, with 44 people killed between January and October this year compared to 26 during the same period last year. This increase has led the Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership to stress the importance of road safety and personal responsibility among drivers.

Despite a lower number of fatalities in 2025, this year's figure aligns more closely with historical data, bringing immense grief to families across the county. The partnership emphasises that driving requires immense concentration and care, urging drivers to avoid distractions and adhere to speed limits.

Many continue to evade responsibility, blaming external factors rather than recognising their role in safe driving. The Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership highlights the importance of personal responsibility and proposes focusing on the ABCs of road safety: Avoid distractions, Be patient, and Concentrate.

By prioritising these principles, motorists can increase their chances of arriving safely at their destinations and reduce tragic road incidents.
