A woman has been arrested after a child in a pushchair was reportedly assaulted outside a supermarket in Spalding.
Lincolnshire Police say they were called after reports that a child had been hit outside the Sainsbury's store on Holland Market at around 3.30pm on Monday 27 July.
Officers also say the child was subjected to shouting and swearing inside the store before the alleged assault.
A 35-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assault.
She's currently on bail as investigations continue.
Police say safeguarding measures have been put in place for the child.
The force has also urged people not to speculate about the incident on social media, stating that it could hinder their investigation and may taint witness evidence.
