Skegness property shut down after anti-social behaviour reports
Closure order granted for Lumley Avenue premises following persistent community disruption
A closure order has been issued for The Old Rectory on Lumley Avenue, Skegness, due to repeated reports of serious anti-social behaviour.
The three-month order was granted on Tuesday 3rd November by Lincoln Magistrates’ Court, following efforts by the local Neighbourhood Policing Team. Residents had endured significant distress and disruption linked to the property, reporting issues such as drug dealing, drug use, and a constant stream of visitors at all hours.
The closure result followed extensive evidence-gathering by the policing team, including witness testimonies and CCTV footage.
Sergeant Matt Neal of East Lindsey's Neighbourhood Policing Team stated, "The persistent issues associated with this property were having a considerable impact on the surrounding community, with residents repeatedly reporting behaviour that was causing alarm, distress, and disruption. We have listened to those concerns and worked extensively to build the evidence needed to secure this closure order."
He added that closure orders are crucial in combating anti-social behaviour and protecting communities, and hopes this action reassures residents that concerns will be addressed through the proper channels.
