Investigation launched after body found in River Freshney in Grimsby
The man's death is being treated as unexplained

An investigation has been launched after a man’s body was found in the River Freshney in Grimsby this morning (9 June).
Police were called at around 11.30am following reports that a body had been found in the river near the footpath linking Corporation Road and Fisherman’s Wharf.
The man hasn't yet been identified and his death is being treated as unexplained.
Detective Inspector Darren Critten said: “At this time, we are in the very early stages of our investigation, and we are conducting extensive lines of enquiries to identify the man and further understand the exact circumstances leading up to his death."
A scene guard is in place whilst investigations continue and people in the area should expect to see an increased police presence.
