Love Your Town is making a return to North East Lincolnshire; a range of events aimed at celebrating our part of the country.

There’ll be live performances, tours, markets, and more in Immingham, Grimsby, and Cleethorpes across three weekends in February.

Whether you're a local resident or a visitor, it's a chance to fall in love with the towns that make up our region.

The events are free and for all ages, starting on the 8th of February in Immingham, the 15th in Grimsby, and 22nd in Cleethorpes.

'Month of love'

Councillor Hayden Dawkins, Portfolio Holder for Culture, heritage and Visitor Economy, said: "We've done this before, but brought it back following the success of last year.

"It's being held in February because, of course, it's the month of love!

"The events are free and suitable for all ages- for example, on the poetry trail, there's clues for the children to find in shop windows about the towns, to make it an adventure for them as well.

"You can visit the Port of Immingham- which you don't normally get to see- the UK's biggest port.

"Pop-up markets, street food, walkabout entertainment and more- it's all happening on those three weekends!"

What's on

The North East Lincolnshire Poetry Trail spans across all three weekends- an opportunity to discover local poems and poets.

If you follow the clues along the trail and complete the journey, you'll be entered into a draw to win prizes.

Immingham

I kicks off in Immingham on February 8th in the Civic Centre and shopping area of the town, from 10am until 4pm.

There's an ABP coach tour of the Port of Immingham- a behind the scenes visit to the UK’s largest port the council say 'is a must for history buffs and anyone fascinated by the inner workings of our local industry.'

There will be live music, sports and games sessions, pop up markets, and more in the Civic Centre and at the Oasis Academy.

Grimsby

The weekend after (February 15th) is all about Grimsby.

There'll be a pop up market in Grimsby Minster, a street food market in Riverhead Square, walkabout entertainment and installations across the town centre.

There's a guided food tour featuring 'some of the great eateries on the North East Lincolnshire Food Map.'

Local artist Sarah Palmer is hosting an Urban Sketch Tour, where participants sketch iconic spots around the town.

Some of the other events include a history walk with Emma Lingard, and the ‘Saints & Sinners: The Untold Tales of Grimsby’s Underbelly’ guided walk with Carla Linford.

Cleethorpes

The festivities will then head to Cleethorpes on February 22nd.

Sea View Street will be covered with street food stalls, live music, installations and street theatre.

In St Peter’s church hall, there's a market full of crafts, jewellery, and food.

Finally, there'll also be a guided food tour, heritage walks, and a ‘Saints & Sinners: Cleethorpes Unveiled’ history walk.
