Man charged with Spalding assault

A man has been charged with assaulting police officers outside a pub in Spalding on Friday night.

45 year-old Alexander Cremlin, of Carrington Road in Spalding has been charged with two counts of assaulting an emergency worker.

He has since been released on bail and is set to appear at Boston Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 22 April.

Detective Superintendent Lee St Quinton said: "We are aware of videos circulating on social media showing officers restraining a man. This was in relation to a suspected assault on our officers just before.

"Our officers often put themselves in harm's way to protect the public, and we'd like to reiterate that any attack on our officers is totally unacceptable."
