Man charged following Spalding firearm incident

A 39-year-old man has been charged with nine offences

A man has been charged with nine offences following an incident in the Market Place in Spalding.

It happened on the 31st May.

It's believed a man was in the area with what was perceived to have been an air rifle.

Armed response officers attended, and a man was arrested.

Matthew Dye, aged 39, of Stonegate in Spalding, has been charged with seven offences which are reported to have taken place on that day including; assault on a person thereby occasioning them actual bodily harm, Intentional strangulation, possession of an air weapon with intent to cause fear of violence.

Following his arrest, further investigation has resulted in him being charged with the following offences:

Two counts of theft from a shop and Theft of a pedal cycle.

Dye appeared before Lincoln Magistrates’ Court today (9th June) and was remanded to appear in court at a later date.
