A 16-year-old boy has been arrested after a disturbance involving a group of teenagers in Mablethorpe.

Police were called to the Sherwood Fields area at around 8.30pm on Saturday (26 September), following reports that around 20 teenagers were allegedly drinking, throwing glass into the road and at passing cars.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer, making threats to kill and public order offences.

He has since been released under investigation.

Police say a larger group gathered nearby while officers were dealing with the arrest.

Some were reportedly drunk, abusive and obstructive, while a number of people were seen wearing balaclavas and riding suspected illegally modified e-bikes.

Officers also reported that some riders deliberately wheel-spun their bikes in front of them, throwing mud towards officers.

Investigating officer PC Craig Hobson said: "We know incidents like this can have a significant impact on how safe people feel in their community. Let me be clear: this was not harmless fun. The behaviour reported was dangerous, intimidating, and disruptive, and we are determined to identify those responsible to put in place relevant interventions with partner agencies.

"We are appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened, captured footage on mobile phones, CCTV, dashcam or doorbell cameras, or who has information about those involved, to get in touch. Even the smallest detail could assist our inquiries."
