Lincolnshire seeks community feedback to enhance youth services
Youth Strategy aims to address gaps and improve opportunities for young people
Lincolnshire County Council is inviting community feedback to develop a comprehensive Youth Strategy, aiming to improve youth services and provide better support for young people across the county.
Through a range of activities designed for individuals aged 11 to 19, alongside targeted support for those facing challenges, the council seeks to create meaningful opportunities that cater to the wellbeing and development of young residents.
Cllr Natalie Oliver, Executive Councillor for Children's Services, expressed her commitment to enhancing youth services: "For far too long, there’s been a lack of opportunities for teenagers across the county.
"I want us to do much more for our young people."
The council is reaching out to young people, families, organisations, and community partners to gather insights on what works well, areas for improvement, and priorities for future youth services.
Additionally, young residents can engage in conversations, workshops, and interactive activities designed to encourage detailed discussions, especially involving groups who may be less inclined to participate in the survey.
Reflecting on the importance of community involvement, Cllr Oliver noted: "Your views will influence the development of our new Youth Strategy."
By seeking diverse perspectives on effective youth services, Lincolnshire aims to create a strategy that supports wellbeing and fosters growth, ultimately leading to better outcomes for young people throughout the region.
