Man who raped elderly women at Stamford care home jailed for 21 years
35-year-old Joshua Springer previously pleaded guilty to nine charges of rape
A man from Stamford who raped four women, including three at an elderly residential care home, has been jailed for 21 years plus an extended license period of six years.
35-year-old Joshua Springer previously pleaded guilty to nine charges of rape, and three counts of making indecent images of children.
Three women were raped twice, and a fourth woman was raped three times.
Lincoln Magistrates’ Court heard how officers received reports that vulnerable people had been sexually assaulted at an elderly residential care home in the Stamford area in June 2025.
Three of the survivors were based there, whilst a fourth was traced to an address in the North Yorkshire area.
Springer was arrested a month after the investigation began.
Detective Chief Inspector Jennifer Lovatt said Springer abused his position to attack the vulnerable: “It is appalling, and my heart goes out to the victims and their families.
“The impact of Springer’s actions cannot be overestimated and will have long-lasting consequences. It was imperative that we got him behind bars and out of our community.
“I’d like to pay tribute to the women at the centre of this case and their families.
“Their courage and dignity cannot be put into words."
