A man who burgled a 91-year-old man's home in Cleethorpes has admitted his crimes in court.
31-year-old Joshua George, of Lovett Street in Cleethorpes, pleaded guilty to burglary at Grimsby Magistrates Court on Monday 1 June.
On 21 April this year, George ransacked a home on Robson Road, stealing jewellery and sentimental items whilst the 91-year-old homeowner was out.
Officers were able to identify George from CCTV footage and found that he approached multiple houses on Robson Road before entering the victims' through the backdoor.
He was arrested a few days later.
Detective Constable Nigel Morgan, who led the investigation said: “George’s selfish acts on that day left a man feeling vulnerable in his own home.
“His intrusive crimes were not only extremely selfish, but he stole sentimental items that cannot be replaced.
“No one should be made to feel unsafe in their own home and whilst thankfully, no one was seriously injured, I am pleased George has now admitted his actions.
“This investigation required hours of analysing complex CCTV footage and I would like to thank the victim for his patience throughout the investigation."
George has been remanded into custody and will be sentenced on Wednesday, 8 July 2026.
