Police confirm Holbeach death no longer treated as suspicious

Police investigating the death of a woman in her 40s in Holbeach have confirmed that the case is no longer being treated as suspicious following a post-mortem examination.

In an update issued at 7.48pm on 9 November, Lincolnshire Police said that the 56-year-old man who had been arrested on suspicion of murder has now been released with no further action.

A Home Office post-mortem confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.

Police added that further toxicology results are awaited, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

The incident has also been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) as part of standard procedure.

Emergency services were called to Tony Worth Close, Holbeach, at around 7.50am on Friday, 8 November, where the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police had initially arrested a 56-year-old man and launched a murder investigation.

A Major Incident Public Portal was set up to allow members of the public to share any information relevant to the enquiry.

Lincolnshire Police have thanked the public for their assistance and confirmed that officers will continue to support the woman’s family as formal inquest proceedings are prepared.
