Freiston Road in Boston will soon undergo substantial carriageway improvements designed to enhance conditions and provide safer and smoother journeys for road users.

The project, commencing later this month, will focus on rebuilding the road to ensure its reliability and extend its lifespan.

Cllr David East, executive member for highways, emphasised the significance of the scheme: "This is a very important improvement scheme that will see Freiston Road fully rebuilt to ensure it remains safe and reliable for everyone who uses it for years to come."

By undertaking these upgrades now, the council aims to reduce the need for more extensive repairs in the future, promising smoother and more comfortable journeys for residents, businesses, and visitors.

"This scheme will make a real difference for people travelling through the area. The road is showing signs of wear and tear, so now is the right time to invest in its future," said Cllr Sam French, county councillor for Skirbeck.

Approximately 1,300 tonnes of road-building material will be utilised during the project, representing a significant investment into maintaining Lincolnshire's road network.

The initiative reflects a commitment to addressing infrastructure needs, fostering safer roads, and supporting local communities and economies.

Cllr French expressed gratitude to the community for their patience during the roadworks, and assured the finished road will be safer, smoother, and more reliable for all.

As the scheme progresses, local residents and commuters are encouraged to stay informed about any potential traffic disruptions and plan accordingly.
