A man has been charged after a teenage girl was reportedly abducted and sexually assaulted in the Marsh Lane area of Boston.
Officers received reports of the incident just after half past midnight yesterday (17th March).
33-year-old James Savage, also known as Jay Savage, was arrested at The Lord Grey Hotel, Marsh Lane, Boston at 1.45am that same morning.
He's been charged with:
- rape by penetration of the mouth of a teenage girl
- child abduction
- threats with a bladed article
- and the taking of indecent images
Detective Inspector Claire Rimmer, who is leading the case, said: “This is an investigation into an alleged rape in the Boston area by somebody unknown to the victim. Incidents of this nature, while understandably alarming, are extremely rare in the county of Lincolnshire.
"However, thanks to the swift and coordinated efforts of numerous teams a suspect was identified and apprehended within two hours of the initial report.
“We recognise the concern this incident may cause within our community, and we want to update that we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this matter at this time.
“This investigation remains active, and we strongly urge the public to avoid speculation on social media and within group messaging apps to maintain the integrity of the judicial process."
