Anglian Water commits £350 million to Lincolnshire infrastructure upgrades
Major investment to secure water supplies and protect environment.
Anglian Water is investing £350 million in Lincolnshire as part of its largest programme to date, aiming to secure reliable water supplies, protect the environment, and support community growth.
This investment, part of Anglian Water's £11 billion AMP8 programme, will provide extensive improvements to water and recycling infrastructure across the East of England by 2030. The programme's initiatives include replacing over 40km of water mains, installing interconnecting pipelines, and constructing a new reservoir near Sleaford, which is currently in the third stage of consultation.
An additional £69 million is being allocated to protect Lincolnshire's rivers and coastline, while £25 million will be invested in improving the quality of bathing waters. This involves enhancing stormwater storage to mitigate pollution risks during severe weather.
Anglian Water collaborates with Lincolnshire County Council to minimise disruption from essential roadworks, successfully completing 80% of urgent works within three days since the introduction of the Street Works Charter.
James Ball, a director at Anglian Water, expressed the company's commitment to delivering infrastructure for Lincolnshire's future, while Ashley Behan of Lincolnshire County Council highlighted its role in facilitating efficient progress.
