Lincoln Central Library is inviting visitors to uncover the mysteries of Agatha Christie through a free display titled "Agatha Christie: A World of Mystery,". They're one of 33 libraries across the UK displaying stories of the author's life.

This captivating exhibit forms part of a UK-wide initiative within the Living Knowledge Network, inspired by the British Library's major exhibition, and honors the bestselling novelist's life and work.

Library Team Leader Jonny Orme described the comprehensive nature of the exhibit: "So we've got 12 panels... and the panels go through her life. So it's not all just about the book, it's about her life, her time working as a pharmacist during both World Wars, her travels and her lagacy."

Visitors will experience a dynamic exploration of Christie's upbringing, hobbies, and travels, revealing how these elements influenced her iconic fictional creations, Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple.

The exhibit examines Christie's impact on the wider crime fiction genre, illustrating how her use of ingenious puzzles and pioneering closed-circle mysteries has inspired countless authors.

Orme emphasized the interactive elements for library attendees: "It's quite interactive then... There's a thing called Museum in a Box, and it's a little box, and we've actually got some of those that are recordings of Agatha Christie."

Beyond the display, the library will host events, including a session with bestselling author Sophie Hannah discussing Hercule Poirot novels and interactive "Can You Solve the Murder?" events with Antony Johnston.

Orme highlights the exhibit's significance for expanding community engagement: "It kind of puts the library on another group's radar. We want people to come and experience all of this rather than just come and look at some displays."

Lincoln Central Library, operated by GLL on behalf of Lincolnshire County Council, promises not only fascination and adventure but opportunities for learning and community connection through these thoughtfully designed events.
