Three arrested after stabbing in St Helens

Three people have been arrested after a man was stabbed in the leg in St Helens.

The victim, in his 30s, was injured in Twyford Place on the afternoon of Saturday 15 November.

He was treated in hospital and later discharged.

A 37-year-old man from Litherland was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to cause grievous bodily harm with intent and threatening to damage or destroy property

A 17-year-old male from Ashton-in-Makerfield was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent.

A 35-year-old woman from Ashton-in-Makerfield was arrested on suspicion of affray, failing to stop after a road accident and obstructing or resisting a person assisting a constable in execution of duty

All three have been conditionally bailed pending further inquiries.

Officers believe the incident was targeted.
