A 15-year-old boy from St Annes has been charged with drink driving while illegally riding an e-bike.

On 4th March, officers from the Fylde Rural Task Force were patrolling the area when they spotted a male on an e-bike.

Upon noticing the police, the rider sped away, attempting to evade capture.

The teenager abandoned the e-bike down an alleyway and tried to escape on foot but was detained following a brief chase.

He was found to be under the influence of alcohol, blowing over the legal limit at the roadside.

The boy is facing charges for driving while over the alcohol limit, driving without insurance, and driving without a licence.

He is scheduled to appear before Preston Youth Court on 23rd April 2026.

Additionally, the e-bike has been seized and will be crushed.
