Fire crews in Lancashire are dealing with a high volume of weather-related callouts as Storm Boelo causes disruption across the county.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said its crews are responding to the callouts across Lancashire.

The service said it wants to keep emergency lines available for life-threatening emergencies.

How to report a fallen tree

The service is asking people to report fallen trees directly rather than calling 999.

To report a fallen tree, people can call Lancashire County Council on 0300 123 6780 or use the Love Clean Streets app.

The service said people should only call 999 if there is an immediate risk to life.

It gave examples of a tree that has fallen onto a building, has trapped a person, or is creating a dangerous emergency situation.

The service thanked people for their support and patience while emergency services respond across the county.
