Over 250 premises visited in Lancashire for Hate Crime Awareness Week
Operation aimed to raise awareness in the workplace.
Police officers in Lancashire's West Division visited 257 premises as part of Hate Crime Awareness Week, aiming to raise awareness of hate crime in the workplace.
The national week took place from 12th to 17th October 2026, encouraging communities, local authorities, and partners to work together to tackle hate crime across the UK.
In areas including Blackpool, Fylde, Wyre, Lancaster, and Morecambe, neighbourhood policing teams educated staff on recognising hate crime and how to report it.
Lancashire Constabulary's Operation Hail spearheaded the initiative, with officers distributing educational materials funded by the Lancashire Partnership Against Crime (LANPAC).
Visits covered 111 retail stores, 56 licensed premises, 47 takeaways, 23 health centres, and 14 transport hubs.
Prevention Inspector Dave Callan emphasised the importance of engagement during Hate Crime Awareness Week, stating that hate crime will not be tolerated and urging victims to report incidents to the police.
Victims of hate crime are encouraged to report incidents to Lancashire Police by calling 101 or by dialling 999 in emergencies.
More information on hate crime can be found on the Lancashire Police website.
