Investigation underway after man in 80s stabbed in Burnley
Emergency services attended and a man in his 80s was taken to hospital with a number of stab wounds, where he remains in a serious condition
Police in Lancashire said they were called shortly before 8am yesterday (Sunday, May 3rd) to reports of an assault at an address on Wordsworth Avenue.
Emergency services attended and a man in his 80s was taken to hospital with a number of stab wounds.
They said that he remains in a serious condition.
A 22-year-old man from Padiham was arrested in the Dryden Street area a short time later on suspicion of attempted murder.
He remained in custody.
Police also said the victim and the suspect are known to one another and an investigation has been launched.
Officers are appealing for information or footage.
