Man taken to hospital following multiple-vehicle collision on M6

A man has been taken to hospital following a multiple-vehicle collision on the M6 near Preston early on Wednesday morning (July 30th).

Officers from Lancashire Police were called to the M6 just after 6:30am to reports that a lorry, a car and a van had crashed.

When responders arrived at the scene close to Junction 31 near Preston, they found the crashed vehicles and resulted in one of the lanes being closed.

National Highways worked in conjunction with emergency services and the road was eventually cleared and reopened some hours later.

Lancashire Police have now confirmed that they have arrested a man, aged 24, on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs. He was also taken to hospital for minor injuries.

A man in his 30s was later taken to hospital with minor injuries in the wake of the incident.

Officers are now looking into the incident, and have urged those driving in the area at the time of the crash to get in touch.
