A man has been sentenced to over seven years in prison following a series of break-ins in the Scotforth area of Lancaster.

Shane Brady broke into multiple homes between 2nd July and 24th July, stealing cash, laptops, electrical goods, games consoles, mobile phones, and jewellery.

The burglaries occurred late at night or in the early morning, close to an address where Brady often stayed.

Brady, 25, who has no fixed address, was arrested by Lancashire Police officers on 25th July after being recalled to prison.

He was later charged in September and appeared at Preston Crown Court, where he pleaded guilty to five burglary offences and was sentenced to seven years and 73 days.

Detective Constable Jonathan Marshall of Lancaster CID’s Residential Burglary Team commented, “Shane Brady carried out several burglaries in an area of Lancaster in a short space of time. Dwelling house burglaries cause misery and fear to householders who are left feeling unsafe in their own homes. I welcome the lengthy sentence which the judge passed, and I hope it gives Brady’s victims some sense of justice.”
