Lancashire police take action over illegal e-bikes and e-scooters
Lancashire Police say they are taking a zero tolerance approach to illegal e-bikes and e-scooters.
The clamp down over the last week saw operations take place in the likes of Blackpool, where over 50 of the vehicles were seized alone on one DAY, with 40 seized in Preston.
Blackpool South MP Chris Webb joined the force on the operation in the town to see the new fleet of high tech bikes in operation...
"Blackpool was the first place where this operation took place on that day, with a drone used, it shows how seriously we are taking it, this was a success but we know much more work is needed to be done."
Speaking about the work in Preston inspector Steve Scott from the Road Policing Unit said: “Through our Lancashire Talking survey, the public tell us that nuisance vehicles and the use of illegal E-bikes and E-scooters is one of their top concerns and that is why are carrying out operations like this and will continue to do so.
“ASB is unacceptable - Everyone has the right to feel safe in their home and community and I hope that these results will demonstrate to the public that we are listening to your concerns and we are acting upon them.”
