Gas main works continue after leak in Darwen
A main ruptured yesterday afternoon
Lancashire Fire and Rescue says that Cadent Gas has put a temporary fix in place, after a third-party caused a rupture of the gas mains on Goose House Lane, Darwen yesterday afternoon (Tuesday).
The fix means those residents who have been evacuated will now be able to return to their homes.
Work will be taking place today, to provide a permanent fix and as such there will still be localised road closures in place.
The service is thanking the local community for its patience, while it's been dealing with this incident.
