A flood alert has been issued for the coast at North Morecambe Bay, from Roosebeck to Carnforth.

According to the Environment Agency, high tides today may lead to flooding.

Flooding is possible between 9:15am and 2:15pm on Tuesday 27th October.

Low lying areas at risk include Ulverston, Greenodd, Haverthwaite, Flookburgh, Grange-over-Sands, Levens, Milnthorpe, Sandside, Arnside and Silverdale.

Coastal roads and footpaths along the affected stretch are expected to be most affected.

The Environment Agency said it is closely monitoring the situation and has urged people to avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.

The alert will be updated by 5pm on Tuesday 27th October, or sooner if the situation changes.
