Firefighters tackle property fire in Blackpool

Firefighters are currently dealing with a house fire on Hobart Place in Blackpool.

At around 3:20pm this afternoon (19th December), six fire engines and an aerial ladder platform arrived at the scene after the fire spread across the ground and first floor of the property.

Crews used six sets of breathing apparatus to bring the blaze under control.

Fire investigators are at the site working to determine the cause, and firefighters expect to remain on scene for the next two to three hours monitoring the situation.

People are being asked to avoid the area and to close their windows and doors if they can see or smell smoke.
