Police in Nelson have seized £97,000 and a significant quantity of Class B drugs following a warrant executed at a local address.

Officers from the Prosper Partnership and Neighbourhood Policing Teams carried out the warrant at a property on Hardy Court on Wednesday, 21st October, after receiving intelligence from the public.

Inside, they discovered numerous cannabis plants and £96,000 in cash.

Two men, aged 20 and 27, were arrested on suspicion of possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply, as well as money laundering. They have been released under investigation as police continue their inquiries.

The operation forms part of Lancashire Police's 'Operation Warrior,' an effort to combat serious and organised crime in the region. Supported by Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw, the campaign targets individuals and gangs involved in large-scale drug supply, violence, exploitation, and other criminal activities impacting local communities.
