Burnley search for new boss as Nicky Hayen departs
The head coach leaves after just 14 games in charge.
A 4-1 loss to Lincoln City proved to be the final act for Nicky Hayen as Burnley boss.
The side are currently in the Championship drop zone and have just eight points from their opening twelve league games.
In a brief statement the club stated:
"Burnley Football Club has dismissed Head Coach Nicky Hayen with immediate effect. The Board has taken the decision following a disappointing start to the Championship season."
Hayen joined the side after their relegation from the Premier League in July, with the former Club Brugge boss tasked with bringing the team back to the top flight.
But a number of disappointing results led to the Burnley board deciding change was required.
