Burnley relegated from Premier League after Manchester City defeat
They will spend next season in the Championship
Burnley have been relegated from the Premier League after losing to Manchester City at Turf Moor.
The game saw the Clarets lose 1-0 to title-chasing City and it means they'll be playing Championship football next season.
It’s been a difficult season for Scott Parker’s side, who’ve spent most of the campaign near the bottom of the table.
When asked about the prospect of being relegated before the game, Parker said:
"That's been a challenge for us over the last few months, to be quite honest with you, because we've not managed to pick up results.
"That burden has obviously been on our shoulders for some time now."
Burnley won promotion last season but end up back in the second tier at the first time of asking.
